KFC

In 1930 in Corbin Kentucky, Harland Sanders began cooking for hungry travellers at his service station. His secret blend of 11 herbs and spices and basic cooking techniques made him famous. In 1936 Ruby Laffoon the Governor of Kentucky made Harland an honorary Kentucky Colonel for this contributions to the state's cuisine.  From that point on he was known as Colonel Sanders.  In 1957 the 1st bucket of chicken was sold. In 1965 he sold his interest in the company but was the spokesperson for KFC until his passing in 1980.
