Calgary Housing Market Does Not Show Signs of Slowing

Relative to national trends, we continue to move in the opposite direction recording both sales and price growth.  However, despite the higher than anticipated sales growth this year our market is not overheating, simply returning to levels consistent with long term trends and prices still have not fully recovered after the last recession.

The detached benchmark price for October is $433,300 an increase of 8.41% year-over-year. The apartment benchmark price is $247,000 an increase of 3.22% and the attached benchmark price is $279,000 an increase of 3.10%.  Overall sales for the month totaled 1,665 units, compared with 1,351 during the same period last year.
